Pylos is a delightfully simple and easy to play yet surprisingly strategic when you get down to it board game that's easy to teach all ages.
If you place the final ball on top of the pyramid you win. Easy, right? Not exactly.

How to play?
Each player has fifteen balls, either light or dark.
Players take turns their balls into the indents on the board.
Once four balls have been placed in a square, a ball can be placed on top of them, forming a pyramid and a new level of play.
If a player forms a square of their own colour, they can remove one or two of their balls (if they're not supporting anything), giving themselves more balls to place in the future.
If a player forms a square that's not entirely their own colour, they may take ANY ball and place it on the square, locking some pieces in place and making a move without having to place a piece from their reserve.
Also included in the rules is a simpler children's variant, and a more advanced one, that allows a player to return 1-2 balls to their reserve after creating a line of their own colour.
