The points of the pentacle represent the four earthly elements (fire, water, earth and air), with the fifth being the heavenward pointing spirit.

Cornelious Agrippa, a 16th-century occult philosopher suggested there was a divine golden ratio connection, with the pentacle symbolising the outstretched human figure. 

This polished pendant is made form fine English pewter and hangs on a 46cm trace metal chain.
