This full set of chess pieces is a replica of real find - The Lewis Chessmen - dating back to the 12th Century.

Discovered in 1831 on the Isle of Lewis, the Chessmen hark back to a time of feuding lords and brutal Viking invasions. 

Handmade in the UK, these authentic looking poly-resin reproductions were sculpted using 3D laser scans. Their simulated ivory finish makes them closely match the walrus tusk originals and have been finished off with a soft black felt base.

Housed in an attractive, foam-lined storage box, the largest piece in this midsized set (the king) stands at 6.5 cm tall.

An elegant chess set that will add some historical style to a room thoughtful gift for the history enthusiast that likes a bit of timeless strategy.
