The Event
Seize the first chance to get your name on the Piranha cup at our inaugural event, The Summer Battle Festival! If this one's a success, it'll be followed at by an equally awesome Winter Poke’ Snowdown!’
Already home to a fantastic community of Pokémon players, we would like to invite more people from near and far. Come and join in what we hope will become one of the most loved and best prized regional independent tournaments

The Venue
An epic, themed venue with lots of comfortable play space and fantastic facilities.
Tasty food and a great selection of drinks, including freshly made milkshakes and bubble tea. All at good prices, designed to keep you happy and fuelled throughout the day!
Prizing
We have a mega selection of prizes available for this event. Whether you're a competitive veteran or a casual player, there will be multiple opportunities for players of different levels to go home with some really cool loot!
Not only will there be a chance to qualify for the top cut in 2 separate leagues, each with 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes (6 skilled players winning). There will also be tons of prizes for players that might have narrowly missed out.
In our Sinnoh sweepstake you win tickets to our prize raffle - every battle 2 per win and 1 per loss or draw!

The supreme victor will also get their name engraved on our in-store Piranha Cup trophy, so they can be immortalized in our store hall of fame!
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The tournament has been laid out to try and create a fun day for everybody; from casual, to more competitive players. There is no age grouping or handicaps, just lots of different opportunities to win.
Initial matching will start as a random process, as you progress you will eventually end up facing the better or luckier players. However, no one gets left behind everyone will have a chance to win prizes, even in defeat!
Players will be assigned a group on registration. They will play 1 game against everyone in that group. You will not be able to choose which group you start in, this is designed to minimise team play at early stages.
After the first battle rounds, the most successful will start to be ranked and filtered into two main leagues. Platinum - the top league and Gold, the second league.
Anyone falling short joins the Sinnoh Sweepstake and starts winning raffle tickets for the end of day draw.
This next round will be another best of 1 against everyone in your new group and decide whether you make it to the league final or the battle for 3rd place. These final battles will be the best of 3 to allow the top players a fair shot at prizing.
If at any time you get knocked out the league you will immediately be able to join the sinnoh sweepstake, you can drop in and out of this as you like, either keep battling or take a break. Here you will get 2 tickets per win and 1 per loss or draw for a chance to win prizes in our raffle!
A note on Sportsmanship & Judging
This is a tournament designed and run by Happy Piranha and is not a Pokémon play event. While we hope everyone is here to play with a good sporting spirit, there will be a judge(s) on site to settle any questions or discrepancies in play.
We will adjudicate in a manner that prevents judge calling being used to inappropriately gain advantage. We will support and reward fair play, encouraging the offering of friendly advice if and when appropriate. We highly encourage players to not use judge calling as a way to trick or trap your opponent into a loss.
The judge’s decision on the day will be final. While the event is in a competitive format, it is designed to be a fun day - to celebrate playing Pokémon. Judges may allow some leeway e.g. the chance to redo and move on from genuine errors in play, or providing extra time to resolve issues if not likely to have any adverse impact on the tournament, as a whole.
Cheating or foul play will not be tolerated. In cases where there may be some doubt a first warning will be given. In repeat, obvious or extreme cases, the judge reserves the right to forfeit games and if necessary, suspend players from the tournament.
