The aim of the game
To win, get 4 marbles of your colour in a diagonal, horizontal or vertical line.
To set up
- Lay out the board
- Lift the central button and rotate it a quarter of a turn until it locks.
- Each player picks a colour and takes the matching 8 marbles
To play the game
The first player places one of their marbles on the board and presses the central button once to make it move. Play then passes to their opponent.
Now a marble is down, players have 3 actions to take on their turn in the following order:
- Move an opponent's marble if you wish.
- Place and marble.
- Push the central button.
Moving a marble is optional. You can move your opponents marble one space horizontally or vertically, not diagonally and only if there’s room.
When placing a marble it can be put on any free space. Once you’ve placed a marble you cannot move it, only your opponent can!
After placing a marble, you MUST push the central button.
Game end
Play continues in this way, each player moving a marble if they wish, placing a marble and pushing the button until… after pushing the button a line of 4 marbles of the same colour is created. Whoever’s colour it is wins!
If pressing the button causes a line of each colour it's a draw!
If the final marble is placed and there isn’t a winner after pushing the button, press the button 5 more times, if during any of those times a line is made, that player wins.
If there’s still no winner, it's a draw!
That’s Orbito, simple spherical fun!
Enjoy!
