The aim of the game
As the story goes , a sieve-brained ghost has photographed stuff he likes to haunt, so that he doesn’t forget.
Unfortunately, the outdated camera doesn’t work well - some of the colours have come out wrong
You need to grab the right items quickly - so that Balduin can get back to haunting.
Setup
- Place the 5 items in a circle in the middle of the table.
- Shuffle the cards and put them in a face down pile.
- The first player is the last person who entered a cellar
Gameplay
When everyone is ready, the first player turns over the top card, so everyone can see it at once.
One of two scenarios will occur:
- The card shows an item where the colour doesn’t match the actual item on the table, and one item that is the correct colour.
In this case, you must grab the item on the table that is exactly as shown on the card.
For example: If the card shows a white ghost sitting on a blue chair, the only correct item to choose is the white ghost.
- A card shows two items, neither matching the colour of the items on the table.
In this case, you must grab the item on the table that's shape AND colour are not represented on the card.
For example: If the card shows a grey ghost sitting on a blue chair, the only correct item to choose is the green bottle – neither a bottle, nor the colour green are shown on the card. You cant grab the mouse as the colour grey is on the card.
Whoever grabs the right item keeps the card in front of them, and turns over the next one.- Each player may only grab one item.
- You are only allowed one grab each round.
Game End & Scoring
The game ends when the card pile has been used up.
Whoever has the most cards in front of them wins!
Advanced Rules
Once you've mastered the basics, for more brain strain you can add the following rules:
- If a book is depicted on the card in any colour: You must shout the correct item, not grab it.
- If the book is not on the card: You must grab the book.
For example:
- Green chair and blue book... shout 'book'.
- Grey bottle and red book... shout 'ghost'.
- White ghost and green book... shout 'ghost'.
- Grey ghost and green chair... grab the book.
That’s Ghost Blitz.
